I think that Rowan Atkinson’s skit was rather interesting. For he seems to observe teenagers and and their conversations and use that to make them laugh. I guess he notices how a lot of teenagers these days like to talk about inappropriate and nasty stuff. That’s what’s interesting. He was trying to get to the audience.

It is also interesting how he chose to act in his skit. He chose to take terms and phrases often used by teenagers and use them as names while acting like a teacher taking role. It was interesting and funny how he took some of those “names” of his students and acts like he’s talking to and about them when he is really making inappropriate statements.

At some cases, I couldn’t understand what he was saying. It was partly or only because of his English accent that was a little bit hard to understand. Neither did I know the meaning of some of the words he was using. Those were the only problems I had while watching the skit.

I think that Taylor Mali’s performance was rather interesting. At the beginning of his act, he did seem like a goof when he laughed like one at his own joke. I think that was one way of making an audience laugh. I thought he was going to do that throughout the entire show. Then he slowly got serious about his topic, which is really what got me. You would not have expected the ending by just looking at how it started.

Taylor Mari uses a quote, ”if you can’t do, teach.” That qoute sound like it is saying that teachers suck at what they teach. That doesn’t really show a lot of value towards teachers because teachers are supposed to be good at what they teach.

A teacher is very valuable in my life for educating me in many different ways and helping me practice skills I never thought I would need. And that’s what teachers are for. They open your eyes on how things are in the world.

I think that Jane’s Elliott’s experiment wasn’t really worth trying. All she really did was split kids into two groups and made a war out of it. Then by saying that blue-eyed people are superior to brown-eyed people, she put the brown-eyed kids down. She should have known better than to put certain kids higher than other kids because of differences in physical traits because all that does is starts insults and fights, especially with little kids. She should have known that kids take in mostly anything and get it into their heads, especially from their teachers. That is why 3rd grade kids are not the best choice to experimenting on in a subject like this.

To me, it seems like at the beginning, when Jane Elliott talk about how black people and Indian are often discriminated and unfairly treated, she makes a point and then contridicts that point afterwards.

I think that Kiri Davis’s film can get a person thinking about black history. Especially when most of those little kids chose the white doll over the black doll. Because that was just messed up right there. It’s like they like white people more than black people. On top of that, they were black kids. What are they doing saying they didn’t want this doll because it was black. But then again, there just little kids, so I’m sure they didn’t know any better.

At the beginning, when the girls were talking about how some find light-skinned girls were more attractive than dark-skinned girls, it seemed like they were bringing up stereotypes that some teenagers might feel.

I don’t really feel that much pressure at school. However, I try my best not to look stupid in class. I’m talking about when it comes to schoolwork or homework. I’m still having a hard time paying attention in class. It’s not something I worry about everyday, but I try not to ever let it happen. However, there always comes a time where I just would not care what others would think of me. So I try to let pressure flow on pass me and try to keep it out.

I’ve never really been in a situation where I would really receive advice that I would really need. I might have at somepoint in my life, but I don’t know. If someone was giving me advice, I would listen. Then afterward, if it’s not right, I would most likely critique it. I have from my teachers and my parents at some point. I just never really received advice from any of my personal.

I’m always the one giving out advice to my friends. I often give advice to my friends at my church when they seem like they need it. I most often give advice to my two little cousins at home. They’re the ones that really need it. I sometimes give advice that I’ve learn from my life experience. Sometimes, I give advice that come from my observance when I look out into the world. Especially when I got into high school, which is observed really. I also give advice from what my parents taught me. Sometimes my parents would tell me something and it take a while for me to think about why. Then when I find out why, I try to carry it out. For example, my parents told my not to get a girlfriend until I was 16 years old. They didn’t tell me why. But then again, I never asked because I was just obedient. Then when they dold A lot of advice I would just give using common sense.

One thing that makes a practical joke successful is catching the victim off guard. That means that you have to wait until the victim has his/her mind on something else. A part of that is not pulling pranks so often. If you do pull pranks too often, the person will expect pranks at all times and will watch out for more. Another part of catching your victim is not making a schedule. For example, if you only do a joke on somebody on April Fools Day, that person will expect a prank one way or another. If that person expects a prank on April Fools Day, do something the next day or the day before. Or, maybe, skip a year to make it seem like joking with people was out of style. That person might not a expect it. I probably shouldn’t have said that. Now that person is going to expect that.

Another thing that makes a practical joke successful is not doing the same thing everytime. Once you do something, the victim is most likely to remember and learn from the past. The person is just going to remember what happened las time you pulled that prank.

One thing you should know your victim. Apart of that is knowing how he/she reacts to everything. I mean do something to scare this person or make this person mad or sad or have some reaction. For example, if this person is has a fear of clowns, get one to come to her birthday. Or if this person is afraid of the dark, find some way to lock him/her in the closet if it has know light switch.

Another thing I want to talk about is when I went trespassing into a man’s backyard. By the way, this is still Kai. Anyway, when I got in, I was amused and felt like I was in heaven when I saw a whole bunch of surfboards all over the place. They were, like, the coolest surfboards in the world. But then again, I saw that they were all old, used surfboards that looked worn out. Because you see, I wasn’t just looking and staring at the surfboards, I was observing every little detailed characteristic of each and every surfboard I saw. Then all of that excitement went away right when I heard a voice saying,”Haven’t you ever heard of trespassing?” I looked up and saw an old man with a gun pointed right at me. He got on my case: asking me a bunch of questions, just like that cop did back at the store. I gave honest answers to his questions. I was calmly trying to explain to him that I was not trying to intrude of; I was just amazed by his surfboards, that’s all. Eventually, he put down his gun, which turned out to be empty. He told me his name was Curtis. Then we start having a little conversation when I start asking him about his surfboards. We mostly talked about the one that really caught my attention. It was the Triggers Brothers surfboard. Then he asked me if I had a surfboard. When I said no, he went and got my favorite one. Then he gave it to me and told me to give it back when I was finished. When I left, I was both relieved and excited. I was relieved because I thought it was over for me. I was worried that he was going to at least call the cops on me if he wasn’t going to shoot me. But instead, he kindly let me use one of his surfboards, which was the same surfboard we were talking about. That’s why I was also excited. To try out this Triggers Brothers surfboard I had just been offered to use. I felt lucky.

What’s up! This is Kia… again. This time, I want to talk about my favorite hobby, which is surfing (as I said in the first blog entery). I hadn’t surfed in a while, but going to the beach in Sun Haven reminded me how much I liked it. That’s what I like about Sun Haven. There’s nothing like a nice, hot weather at the beach and some nice, big waves that made me want to get out my board and hit the waves. Surfing there was fun and the waves were nice and really refreshing. That’s why I liked surfing at the beach on my recreation time.

Another thing I want to say about this is that I only liked surfing freely on my free time. I was never really into competing against others. In fact, competing in surfing competition is what I hated the most. Surfing was my hobby, and I wanted to keep it that way.

Hey, it’s me, Kia. You know; the surfing big fan who is always observing surf boards and going surfing on my free time. I just wanted to say that it was interesting going through what happened in Taking off the Impact Zone. One time I want to talk about is when Sean, Pat, and I got caught by that cop for breaking into that one store and carrying out its products, and loading them into a truck that was not ours. That was a scary moment. It was scary because when the cop saw us, he had start asking us what we were doing. We were trying to convince him that we were just doing our jobs trying to unload the truck we borrowed from a friend of ours. That’s when he start asking a bunch of questions. That was I start wondering whether we were going to get caught or get away with what this . I had to have been really crafty and clever if I wanted to shake a cop. I was also worried because I was the only one coming up with smart answers to the questions the cop was asking. I even spoke out of turn when I saw that Sean could’nt come up with an answer, twice. The cop kept yelling at me for that. So it was scary, but we got through when he decided that we were innocent and telling the truth. The really scary part was when the cop told us to wait inside his police truck. Meanwhile, the cop would look around the store to make sure we were telling the truth. One problem I had at that moment was Sean’s whimpering self. I just wanted to smack him and punch him in the face and just tell to shut up. We were already in trouble. Why would he make it obvious that we were commiting a crime. On top of that, this is not the time to acting like a little kid. That really drove me crazy. Talk about immaturity. I was so glad, though, when he let us go after he was done with his tour around the store. When he said that everything seems to be in order, I was really relieved. I scared again when Pat decided to open up his big and say,” For all you know, we could be a bunch of crooks breaking into the store, loading its products into the truck.” At the same time, I was mad at as heck. I mean, Pat would blurt out something that would give the cop an idea of what we were actually doing. The cop did pause with a suspicious look on his face, but it’s a good thing Pat got the cop’s mind off it.

Is the big foot real, you ask? Is what Rodger Patterson filmed real, you ask? I’ll tell you this: I don’t believe in the existance of this bigfoot. There’s just not enough evidence or proof that this bigfoot is real. I would probably believe in the existance a bigfoot if I see one at the zoo or a museum or, maybe, if I see it live on the news. But if all I’m getting is a video, it is most likely to be a fake or made up video. And that’s another thing. What I also believe is that what Rodger Patterson filmed is a fake. Right when Rodger Patterson starts starts filming, I saw the bigfoot look back at the camera, then turn back away and just continued walking. If this bigfoot was real, I bet Patterson would’ve at least recored it coming close to the camera to see what’s up right after it looked at the camera. If it were real, he would’ve at least recorded something like it’s habitat or how it adapts to its environment. For all I know, it could’ve some guy dressed as an ape trying to make sure he is caught on tape.
